Romans 5:7–8 (KJV):
“For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Have you ever asked yourself:
Why would Jesus die for mankind’s sins?
Why would God come in human flesh and choose to suffer and die for people who constantly reject Him? Why not just destroy them and stay in heaven with the angels?
Today, let’s explore the love of Christ, God’s perfect plan for redemption, and how the death and resurrection of Jesus changed everything, for eternity.

What Can We Learn From the Prodigal Son’s Parable?
1 – A Crime Was Comitted

When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they broke God’s law, a spiritual crime was committed. And because God is just, justice had to be served. He had already warned them:
“In the day you eat of it, you shall surely die.”
This wasn’t just about physical death, it was about eternal separation from God. Sin broke the perfect relationship between man and God.
Out of justice, God removed them from the garden. But out of love, He gave a promise, even in judgment. God told the serpent (Satan) that one day a child would be born of a woman who would crush his head (Genesis 3:15). That promise was the beginning of God’s redemptive plan.
In the Old Testament, people offered animal sacrifices to cover their sins. The blood of animals symbolically transferred sin and offered temporary forgiveness. But it wasn’t enough, no animal could completely cleanse a person from sin. And no human born of natural descent was qualified to be perfect, because all were born into sin.
So what did God do?
He sent His only Son, Jesus, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, so that He would not inherit sin. Jesus, fully God and fully man, lived a perfect life and became the only one worthy to take our place.
On the cross, Jesus took the punishment we deserved. And when He rose from the dead, He didn’t just prove His divinity, He became a living Savior who offers complete forgiveness and new life to anyone who believes.
Now, when someone repents and receives Jesus as Lord and Savior, they are washed clean, no matter what sins they’ve committed. God no longer sees their sin, He sees Christ’s righteousness.
2 – He Loved Us That Much

Jesus is the ultimate example of love, a love so deep, so strong, that it willingly endured unthinkable pain.
Though Jesus was God, He humbled Himself by taking on human flesh. He experienced hunger, thirst, fatigue, and pain, yet never sinned. And at any moment, He could have stopped His suffering.
Consider this: when you touch something hot, your body immediately reacts to escape the pain. Imagine Jesus being nailed to the cross, His body would have cried out to flee and he could on a blink of an eye escape because he was God, yet He stayed.
Why?
Because He loved us that much.
He endured the whipping, the crown of thorns, the mockery, the betrayal, and the crucifixion, because He had you in mind. He believed you were worth it.
That’s the gospel.
Conclusion
I don’t know who you are or what your story is. But here’s one thing I’ve learned:
If you’re still breathing, God still has a purpose for you.
And if you haven’t yet received Jesus as your Savior, today is the perfect time.
The Creator of the universe is offering you a relationship with Him, not religion, but real transformation.
Would you like to accept Him today? Pray this with me:
“Lord Jesus, thank You for dying for my sins. I repent of my past and I receive You as my only Lord and Savior. I give You my life. Amen.”
