Sometimes, being patient can be very difficult. Even though we are saved by Christ, that doesn’t mean our journey will be easy. We constantly face adversities that test our ability to overcome anxiety and impatience.
Today, let’s explore three key requirements for anyone who wants to grow in faith with Christ. If you enjoy this article, don’t forget to leave a comment below and share it with your church and family groups.
1 – Meditate In The Word Of God Daily
Joshua 1:8 (KJV):
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

When you decide to meditate on God’s Word daily, the Holy Spirit will gradually begin to transform your character, shaping you in the areas where you need growth. It’s similar to our relationship with food, just as we must eat physically to stay healthy and energized, we must also feed our spirit. The more we read the Word of God, the more we grow in faith and patience.
Remember, faith comes by hearing the Word of God, but not through hearing alone. As you begin reading the Bible regularly, your ability to trust in God and to be patient will grow faster than you might expect!
2 – Ask To God
James 1:5 (KJV):
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

The Bible says that all things are possible to those who believe. So if you ask God to increase your capacity for patience, He can certainly do it. However, don’t expect everything to happen in the blink of an eye. Often, Christ will allow people into your life who are difficult to deal with, not to frustrate you, but to help you grow in self-control. Over time, you’ll notice yourself becoming more patient than ever before.
I remember a job I had where I faced many stressful situations. Looking back, I see that the reason was simple: God was building in me a greater ability to deal with difficult people. Sometimes we ask for growth, and other times God initiates the process Himself. He does this so we can grow as Christians. Even though it may not feel good in the moment, growth often comes through discomfort and challenges. So if you’re praying for more patience, be prepared, it won’t be easy, but it will absolutely be worth it!
3 -Be Open To Put Into Practice What You Read
James 2:26 (KJV):
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

When we read the Scriptures, it becomes clear that we are called to become more patient people. But here’s the question: Are you truly ready to go through the test of patience?
As Christians, we often think we’re ready. But the hard truth is that in moments of hardship, it’s much easier to lose our temper than to respond with patience. Despite this, we must put in all our effort to become more like Christ. Remember what Jesus said: “Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
Conclusion
Today, we’ve learned some important principles for growing in patience through Christ, so that we may become more like Him. Brothers and sisters, our time here on Earth is a continuous journey of self-improvement. Don’t be too hard on yourself. My prayer for you is that the Holy Spirit will help you overcome any lack of faith and patience. Once your heart is open to Him, He will shape you into a patient person—just as He did with the Apostle Peter in his later days.
