Sometimes in our lives, we pray “God, that your will be done in my life, not mine”. But the question is: are you really up to give up all your dreams to live God’s Dreams and purposes for your life?
We as humans forget who we are talking too, we forget that God is a true God, and because of it we usually say some things that are not true in our hearts, so then when God demands from us something that we prayed( a dream for example), we just denied and then we live a life according to our will and not God’s.
On this article my idea it is to invite you to be real to the most high, learn the right way to pray to God when the topic is Dreams and purposes, so pay attention and don’t forget to write your own notes about these one, may God bless you all!
1 – God’s Thoughts Is To Give Us An Expected End
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11
First, God’s thoughts towards us will never be bad ones, he love us! It is necessary that we understand that God is in an unapproachable place when we talk about knowledge, that is if he is calling you to do something it is because he can see the future and he knows that at the end of your life, the joy obtained for doing what he is calling you to do it will be far greater than reaching your own dreams.
It is necessary to trust in his power, how many times we pray and sing that he is powerful and that he has everything from us but then when we demand us something that we want it we just deny to give him.
Believe me, i know that this can be very hard to do, but through the Bible we can see that those who choose to trust in Christ and decided to live his purposes had greater amount of blessings, reflect on this verse.
“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.”
Matthew 19:29
2 – God’s Thoughts Are Greater Than Ours
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.”
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9
When we study the history of some Prophets such as Jeremiah we start to understand it more about this, i mean Jeremiah preached the gospel for many years to a people that choose to leave God, after many years of no results Israel has received their consequence.
Imagine how Jeremiah couldn’t understand why God allowed him to live that life if nobody would repent? But the thing here is that Jeremiah didn’t knew those days that we could read his history on the bible this days, God knew! Can you imagine how many people got encouraged to be more on fire for God because they read the book of Jeremiah?
Brothers and Sisters, God’s ways are far greater than ours, we have no idea how powerful our God is!
To read this kind of history give us the understanding that the most important thing it is to trust God, he know exactly what he is doing, so believe on his purposes, he never fails!
3 – God’s Purposes Are Linked To Salvation
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
Proverbs 16:9
“The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai: ‘Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.’
“But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.”
Jonah 1:1-3
Brothers and Sisters, one thing that is very related to God’s purposes is Salvation, our dreams and purposes are selfish, we are always looking for something related to our happiness only, but with God is all about salvation!
At first Jonah decided to flee from God’s purposes, but at the end of his story we see that God will do everything that it is necessary to make you understand that his purposes are bigger!
At the last couple of chapters Jonah stops denying God’s calling and decided to preach repentance to the city of Nineveh, as a result of accepting the lord’s calling the whole city choose to repent and all of them was saved from the judgment of God, the lord was about to destroy them and decided not to do so because of the repentance of those!
The bible says that when you are used to save someone of their sin, a multitude of sins is vanish. That is, when you save someone you save this person and their generation!
Does not matter how amazing you can thing your dream is, believe me, that is nothing here on earth that can be compared to the salvation of a soul of a man that once was on the road to hell!
4 – Change Your Mindset And Live God’s Perfect Will
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2
To live according to God’s will for our life we have to develop a different renewed mindset, if Christians put their focus on living what God want for them and not the opposite, for sure the preaching of the Gospel would reach more people!
Conclusion
At the end of the day, the only thing that will matters when we die is how many people were saved, so think about it, maybe God is calling you to be an evangelist, or a pastor.
Your dreams once you die will all vanish, but if you choose to do what God is calling you to you will for sure have an eternity to enjoy all you have planted here on earth in heaven!
