Have you Ever though with yourself why does God test our faith? Well, there is many reasons for that, when God does that is want us to show what there is in our hearts for real, but is not only that.

There is a purpose in every single desert in our lives and the craziest part it is this: it is always a good purpose!

So even though we feel that the desert is an terrible place, there God will improve our character and will test our faith so that he can see if we can receive the blessing that he is preparing for us, because yes, the endpoint on the desert it is to bless us!

So now on this article, let us see some bible verses and try to understand the many reasons why God chose to test our faith and how this can help us to grown as Christians.

1 – The Test Of Faith Produces Endurance

1 Therefore, since we have been made righteous through his faithfulness combined with our faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 We have access by faith into this grace in which we stand through him, and we boast in the hope of God’s glory.
3 But not only that! We even take pride in our problems, because we know that trouble produces endurance,
4 endurance produces character, and character produces hope.
Romans 5:1-4
One of the reasons why God choose to test us, it is because he want us to improve our capacity to endure our difficulties.
As long as we build up a strong capacity to endure in bad situations or even temptations our character become greater, and our faith is also increase.
Remember that according to the Bible, faith is the hope of things that we cannot see. That is, if you increase in hope, automatically you increase your capacity to having faith in God, so no matter how hard is the circumstances you know that God will make a way!

2 – The Test Of Faith Produces Maturity

2 My brothers and sisters, think of the various tests you encounter as occasions for joy.
3 After all, you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
4 Let this endurance complete its work so that you may be fully mature, complete, and lacking in nothing.
James 1:2-4

A man Praying on the church on his knees

According to the apostle James, the test of faith produces endurance, and endurance produces a mature character that lacks nothing.
The meaning of this is simple, once you growth in your capacity of endure temptation, you become more mature, so as long as you growth it will be harder for you to fall on the same traps that the Devil used to prepare for you on the past!
The key on this verse is when James also said that  we should not be sad for being tempted, or tested be be joyful!
See, the reason why James said this it is because when God test you, it means that there is something prepared for you but before giving  you, God will test you to see if you are ready to receive this blessing.
So when you are being tempted or facing difficulties in life it is an awesome tip that there is something Big coming for your, God want to bless you, so endure at all cost!
We can see this clearly with the Israelites on the Desert, in Deuteronomy God says that he put them on the Desert to see what the people had in their hearts. The crazy part about it, is that the people did not receive their blessing, that is the land flowing with milk and honey, because they failed the test of trusting in the heavenly father!

3 – The Test Of Faith Produces An Approved Character

11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
Matthew 4:11
Jesus being serve by angels on the desert
See, by the opposite of the Israelites, Lord Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit to the Desert to being tempted by the Devil for 40 Days!
According to the Bible, God does not tempt us(James 1:13), but yet we can allows Satan to us, testing our fidelity to him.
The reason why he does that it is to see if we are ready to receive what he wants to give us, otherwise we will destroy ourselves and would end up by losing our blessing.
So God being a loving God want us to pass the test to receive the blessing, such as we do not receive our drive license if we cannot pass the test we will not receive the blessing if we cannot endure temptation or the difficulties that God allow us to live!

The amazing part of why James says that we should rejoice it is that throughout all the Bible we can see many examples of people receiving their breakthrough once they pass the test of faith. The Bible says that Jesus after being tempted and passing the test of temptation the Angels came in and served him!
We can see this also in  the history of Joseph, after passing the test of temptation, was fully blesse becoming the Governor of Egypt, and of course we cannot forget about Job, who lost everything and God give him everything in double after passing the test of faith, according to the Bible he did not curse God even after loosing everything.

Conclusion

If you want to be blessed by God, be assure that before the Blessing it will come the test, So prepare yourself to face Spiritual Warfare and other difficulties in life such as job layoff, diseases and temptation.

Be cheerful, once you pass the test your blessing it is waiting for you, so keep focus on God and trust him!
