“6 God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you 7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. 8He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.”
2 Thessalonias 1:6-9
According to the Bible, Hell is a place of eternal punishment, it is a place of eternal suffering. But have you ever ask yourself how hell is look like? Hell is very well known as a place of fire, but there is even more torments there, in this article we will see more about hell, i really hope that this can increase your faith, and also hope that this can lead those who are in sin to repentance, God does not want to send anybody to Hell, Christ came to save the world and not to condemn it!
1 – Eternal Pain
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
In Hell, people will be in eternal punishment, in this place they will be beaten by demons day and night with no moment of rest, and the pain will increase second by second, so in hell the pain it gets worse and worse for all eternity!
Imagine someone stabs you, than other came and stabs you in the same region, the pain will increase at each stab correct? In hell, pain will increase day after day, moment after moment, getting worse day by day, century after century, trillions of years after trillions of years!
2 – Eternal Fire
49 “This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous 50 and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Matthew 13:49-50
“14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.”
Revelation 20:14-15
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
Matthew 25:41
In Hell people will be burning for ever and ever, there the fire will never quench it, now brothers and sisters we can presume how awful this will be.
Imagine a burning that will become worse and worse for all eternity, because there the wound will not heal!
The Bible also says that in this place “there will be gnashing of teeth”, presuming us that the pain will be so terrifying that people will gnash their teeth!
The Bible also use the term “blazing furnace” in reference to hell, now being throw in a blazing furnace will be terrible already, but nothing compared to hell, because in hell there is no death and people will be in this fire for ever and ever!
3 – Eternal Remorse
27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family,28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
Luke 16:27
In hell people will remember about every single time they had an opportunity to follow Jesus but reject it him, they will be always with this terrible feeling of “i should have repented but i did not, and now i am here in this place”.
Again and again they will remember of opportunities and they will imagine how they could be in heaven if they had choose the right choice but they did not!
4 – Eternal Torments
According to the Bible hell in a place made for the Devil and his Angels, so people will be there in hell with this horrifying creatures that hate humans!! If the demons do whatever they can to destroy our lives here on earth imagine what they will do with this people in Hell!
i do not know if you already had that but i had an experience of feeling oppression. What is that? simple, is when God gives you the opportunity to feel what some Demon feels about you, it is a supernatural experience.
So i was sleeping on my bed one day and suddenly wake up feeling this terrifying presence, in that moment i feel that there was some creature there in my room that want to destroy me but she could not. my feeling was like i could feel exactly what that Demon felt about me, it was a hate that does not exist on this earth!
I usually says that Demons will have at least one pleasure in Hell, the pleasure of torture and destroy people. Yes, they will suffer also, but do you really think that this creatures will see a human in hell and will do nothing to make them suffer even more?
5 – No More Rest
The feeling of being tired it is awful, for sure the only thing that someone who is tired want it is to lay on bed and have some good moment of sleep.
Now imagine yourself being awake for 30 days, for sure i assume you would freak out and scream for just having a moment of sleep but after a moment of sleep you will be relieved am i right? In hell people will have no rest, no sleeping, nothing!
after being burned, after trying to escape a dozens of times with no success, being spanked and tortured by demons, people also will get tired, but they will never ever have not even a second of rest.
6 – Eternal Thirsty and Hungry
24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
Luke 16:24
According to the bible, in hell it so hot that even one dot of water would be considered an amazing pleasure.
So, a dot of water cannot stop a thirsty right? But in Hell, one dot is like an ocean of water!
If there is no water, we can also presume that there is hunger also, and of course this hunger will never end it because there is no food in there!
7 – No More Relief
Relief is one of the most important feelings on this life, we are seeking for this all the time, just think about it, when we are in pain and we got healed, it comes the feeling of relief, so you relax.
Well, in Hell there will not be any relief at all, the wound will never be healed, the pain will never stop,their bodies will cry out for a moment of relief, but they will never ever have, not even for one second.
8 – Eternal Agony
25 “But Abraham replied, Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.
Luke 16:25-26
In Hell, people will be in agony for ever and ever. Now, for you to understand what is agony, i will tell you a true story.
When i was a kid i had a friend, this friend had a pool in his house, on that moment i had a “Brilliant idea” of creating a game, so in this game we should “fight” each other, some kind of judo in the water, to win you had to catch your opponent by the head and “almost drawn him in the pool”, so you should drawn him for 10 or 15 seconds, something like that.
In the first i won the fight, in the second though i lost, and in that moment, a mean in the moment that i was getting drowned on that pool, i felt agony, no matter what how hard i tried to escape, it was useless, i felt i was dying, on that moment my opponent let me get out and i said that we should stop the game because it was dangerous!
In hell, people will feel this for ever and ever, the constant feeling of hopelessness will consume those who end up in Hell for all eternity!
9 – Eternal Worms
47 “And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched.”
Mark 9:47-48
As here on earth when people die worms eat them, also in Hell, but with one difference between them: in Hell the worm never die, because there people will never die also!
See, here on Earth, after the whole body are consumed by the worms they die, because there is nothing to feed them anymore. But in Hell, if people never dies, the worms will be eating them for ever and ever, second by second!
10 – No More Love Happiness or Joy
27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family,28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.
29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.”
Luke 16:27-29
In Hell people will never ever see their family again, or feel any love of joy of happiness, nothing.
Because this come from God, so there will be no good presence of God there, only the fury on him, those who reject the forgiveness that Christ propose will be there with nothing good.
So they will never have the opportunity to have a conversation with someone, or to tell a joke or to love his wife, or to show any affection at all, all that will remain will be sorrow, sadness, terror, agony and remorse!
Conclusion
Listen, i know living this life with all temptations and all sort of things that the world offers it is pretty hard, but i can tell you that Jesus it is the best option, even though sin can give you a good feeling for some moments the bible says that the price for sin is death, sin it is not worth the price, it will put you in Hell!
Jesus loved us, he accepted to feel our the terrors of this Earth to give us one opportunity to live for ever with him, but he never promised that it would be easy! There is many afflictions here, but we know that Christ it is the best choice, so today i invite you to choose Christ, not because you do not want to go to Hell, but because you want to be grateful to him who choose to die in your place, he face Hell for you, so the minimum that we can do it is to live a life for him in gratitude, so choose Christ, choose God.
